The Recession Is Already Here
—WCN Warning: Economic/Terrorist event possible—
A post from Financial Armageddon saying what I’ve been thinking recently, when I hear the mainstream media say things like “a recession in the U.S. is possible.”
Possible?
Holy cow, if it’s not clearly upon us, I’m not sure I want to see what they’re talking about. We’re in danger of a major depression setting in over the next couple weeks, and hearing about the chances of recession here is just…Well, unbelievably naive.
By the way, if you haven’t yet read Financial Armageddon, the book, by Michael Panzer, you need to do that…Right away.

I agree 100%. We are definitely in a recession, and I personally don’t think we are going to get out of in until gas prices come down or we drastically reduce our need for it. It raises prices in every market and is killing the economy.
And on a similar note, whoever is elected president is going to have one of the toughest job in recent history. I don’t envy him. He may often times have to choose between bad or worse, and will take some heat because he doesn’t choose the good option that doesn’t exist.

Thanks for your comment, Jared. I believe that gas prices are far from the only problem creating our current recession/coming depression. Americans are simply going to have to face up to a dramatic downshifting in their credit card/real estate bubble provided high-bling lifestyle.
You’re right about the next President. Think “Herbert Hoover.”

I think the real heart of the issue falls clearly on the consumer. Somehow there needs to be a mechanism to stabilize house foreclosures. If the goverment or financial institutions can work to create a hault on foreclosures this might create a foundation floor for pricing vs. a continual downward death spiral.
